WCS Plans for 45th Presidential Inauguration

Dear WCS Families,

As you are all very aware, tomorrow is Presidential Inauguration Day for the 45th President of the United States. In honor of this historic day, each campus will be watching the Inauguration either in full, or in part, depending on the ages of their students.

The Inauguration of any president is a historic event that should be witnessed and respected by all Americans, regardless of their political position. WCS will be taking this opportunity to not only witness history in the making, but also to be led by our teachers and administrators in a time of prayer for our nation and its leaders. Regardless of our political beliefs or party affiliation, it is our duty as Christians to lift up our government in prayer. We need to collectively pray asking God for His mercy, protection and blessing over the United States of America, and to give wisdom to our government officials as they lead the people.

To show our respect for the office of the President of the United States and the tradition of Inauguration Day, we will be allowing students to dress patriotically in red, white, and blue, stars and stripes, or in American flag print with jeans.

Inauguration events start as early as this evening, but we as a school will begin watching at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow morning with the opening remarks and swearing in of Vice President Pence, followed by the official swearing in of President Donald Trump at 11:00. The elementary campus will be watching together at 10:45 in the cafeteria and will be led in prayers for our country. The 3rd-12th grade students on the secondary campus will watch the ceremonies in their individual classrooms led in prayer by their teachers prior to or following the ceremony.

Thank you for joining our school family in prayer for our nation and its leaders.
