We are so excited to announce that Dr. Sarah Collier will be joining our WCS Staff at the Secondary Campus for our 2017/2018 school year!
Weatherford Christian School is excited to announce the addition of Sarah Collier Ed.D. as the new College Preparatory Advisor, and Secondary English Teacher.
“Dr. Sarah Collier is a blessing to WCS,” said Head of School, Dr. Beth Riley. “She will be leading WCS this year on a school-wide positive behavior plan. Every student, parent and teacher will benefit from her expertise. Her experience as a college professor, and college career planning, will enable our students to be exposed to a variety of colleges, scholarships, and career opportunities.”
Collier has been working in the field of education since graduating with an Undergraduate Degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2003. While gaining hands-on experience working at Lubbock ISD as a Behavior Facilitator for grades Pre-K – 2nd, Sarah pursued her EC-4 and All-Level Special Education Teaching Certification and Master’s Degree, graduating in 2004. A love for research and Higher Education, allowed Sarah to pursue her Doctorate in Generic Special Education while working as a Graduate Instructor/Assistant at Texas Tech University. Highlights of that time include assisting with the development of the Burkhart Center for Autism Education & Research and coordinating field experiences for pre-service teachers.
Since graduating in 2007, Sarah has worked as both a Behavior Specialist and Inclusion Teacher in North Texas and taught education courses for Texas Woman’s University and UNT-Dallas before accepting an instructor position at Tarleton State University in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Sarah has been married to John B Collier, V since 2009 and their children attend WCS Elementary, John B VI (1st Grade) and Cora (PreK-4).
