Weatherford Christian School Junior, Jennah Foland, was recently chosen to study abroad this summer in the Oxbridge Academic Program at the University of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. St. Andrews is the oldest University in Scotland and the 3rd oldest in the English speaking world.
Their International faculty is drawn from some of the best Scottish and English Universities, with leading researchers and faculty pulled directly from Andrews’ School of Medicine. Students on the program have the unique opportunity of using the facilities of the University of St Andrews as well as its surrounding town as a classroom and laboratory. Together with program administrators, including Program Deans and Activities Directors, students enjoy a daily schedule that combines intellectual and curricular adventure, cultural enrichment, guest speakers, field trips, activities and sports – all in a safe, supervised environment. It is the combination of these elements that permit students on Oxbridge St Andrews to learn and explore interesting new ideas within their course subject areas, as well as discover new things about themselves.
Jennah is an honor student at WCS where she is also a member of National Honor Society, competes in ACSI Science & Art Fair competitions, recently placed 2nd overall in the Individuals Division of the Weatherford Coyote Math Competition, received awards last year at the Kay Granger and Parker County Attorney Art Competition, plays varsity basketball for the Lady Lions and continually shows and wins at cutting horse competitions across the nation. She is also a member and actively serves through the Outreach Mission at Greenwood Baptist Church.
